The ASAT initiative was presented and discussed at the EuroBioForum, held in December 2007, Lisbon, Portugal.

EuroBioForum, organised by EuroBioFund, provides a networking forum to bring together funding organizations and life science researchers to help develop strategic research agendas and routes for their implementation.

EuroBioFund was set up in 2006 by the European Science Foundation, with support from the European Commission, to identify future grand challenges in the life sciences which require a coordinated European approach for their financing and implementation.
